A place for families to connect and children to grow.

Since 1965, Parkview has educated children and their caregivers in social skills, child development,
and the ways to enjoy those short years before elementary school.

Learn Through Play

The curriculum of our school offers a “learn through play” environment. Each day includes a variety:

  • art projects

  • large and small muscle activities

  • books

  • blocks

  • music

  • circle time

We allow children the freedom to participate and learn from a variety of media
and experiences. Classes offer both structured and unstructured activities.

At Parkview, we encourage socialization and and group participation. Most importantly, we strive
to provide a fun, happy, enriched environment in which children can grow and build self-esteem.

About Cooperative Preschools

Generally speaking, co-ops are member-led schools offering pre-school age children a nurturing place to play and learn. Members help run the preschool and take turns volunteering in their student’s classrooms. Co-oping offers a gradual transition from home to school and allows members a more active role in their student’s education.

New Parkview members receive training for their role in the classroom, and ongoing member education while they remain part of the Parkview family. The co-op offers many opportunities
for members to meet each other and their student’s schoolmates. Because class sizes are small
and members are involved, each student receives plenty of individual attention.

Parkview teachers are experienced educators. They receive specific training in the co-op philosophy, which emphasizes learning through play. The curriculum focuses on developmentally appropriate themes and activities to provide children with a safe, nurturing environment for exploration
and learning – socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

Inclusion Statement

At Parkview we believe in building a community where everyone feels celebrated for who they are. We are committed to the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion needed to create a culture
of belonging. As Parkview members, we come prepared to listen, ask questions, respect answers,
and grow together in community.

We absolutely love Parkview! We’re in our fifth year here, but our family has been involved with the school for over 10 years. When I decided on a coop, I toured a few locally, and fell in love with Parkview. The community and learning through play environment are both just amazing. Additionally, the teachers are perfect for each age/developmental stage.

What To Know About Co-Oping

  • As a co-op, members take turns helping in the classroom, and are required
to be in the classroom 2x per month.

  • As the participating member it is your responsibility to HAVE FUN! Make
a pizza out of playdough, read fun books with a lap full of kids, build a tower out of blocks (and of course knock it down!), paint a picture, and get messy helping with the daily craft.

  • You’ll also be doing the occasional diaper change or potty break, picking up after free play, preparing the snack, zipping up coats, and enjoying the magic of circle and story time.

  • Participating members arrive early to help set up for the school day and stay after
    to help with clean up.

  • The co-op schedule is created at
the beginning of each semester and takes into account the busy lives of all members.

  • It is not uncommon for members to swap days. Everyone has a sick day
or a scheduling mishap now and then.
